At long last, we made our way to Destin, FL where my cousin moved about 4 years ago. Now that we are back, I’m kicking myself for having took so long to make the trip happen. Destin was everything and more than we expected. We left on Memorial Day and flew out of Midway on Allegiant airline and it was SO easy! My travel companions included 2 little boys who were very excited to fly on an airplane:
Another first for me was staying at an AirBNB. I booked this condo for it’s proximity to the beach. Check out that view:
Just across the street we had access to the Emerald coast:
We loved being this close and spent as much time as we could “across the street.”
We also spent as much time as we could with my cousin and her family. We went to Norriego Point one day:
And also went on a Pirate Cruise another day:
The last night in town we went to “our” beach at night to catch (& release) sand fleas:
I am not sure we will make it back very soon, as there are SO many places I want to visit, but I can tell you that if my cousin continues to raise her family there, I WILL MAKE IT BACK one day….
